About this route

The easiest place in Jersey to start running. The promenade follows the curve of St Aubin’s Bay from West Park in St Helier to the harbour at St Aubin: no hills, no traffic, and a view of Elizabeth Castle over your shoulder for the first kilometre.

It’s ideal for a first 5 km, an easy recovery run or a sunrise jog on holiday. Families can stop at any of the kiosks and cafés along the way, and buggies roll easily on the smooth surface.

  • New runners: try 2 minutes running and 1 minute walking. The bus stops along Victoria Avenue are natural markers.
  • Speed work: the promenade is flat and has few crossings, so it’s good for intervals. Run hard between two kiosks and jog the next gap.
  • Wind: a westerly is common. Starting from St Helier puts it in your face on the way out and behind you if you run back.
